Im vergangenen Jahr wurde die PACE-Fahne populär. Millionen Menschen haben sich regenbogenbunte Fahne zugelegt, um auf Demonstrationen oder an ihrem Heim kenntlich zu machen, gegen den Krieg im Irak zu sein. Das einmündige Bekenntnis einer breiten Öffentlichkeit und diese pazifistische Mobilmachung haben am Kriegsgeschehen nichts ändern können. Das bunte Banner hängt
im Wind in Fetzen oder verblichen, die Zeichen stehen auch im Januar 2004 und wohl noch länger auf Krieg. Die Spektralfarben der Pace-Fahne sind in entsprechende Grauwerte umgesetzt. In weisser Schrift liest man anstatt des italienischen "Pace" für Frieden das Gegenteil, nun, nicht guerra, sondern "WAR".

 

Rundgang an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, Leipzig, vom 05. bis 07. Februar 2004. Die Flaggen in Abmessungen 200 cm x 335 cm sind an der Front des Gebäudes gehisst.

Within the past year the PACE-flagg became popular. Millions of people got themselves the rainbowcoloured flagg to show at demonstrations or at their houses their being against the war in the Iraq. This confession of a wide public and their pacifistic mobilization did change nothing on the war taking part.

The colourful banner is hanging ripped and tornor even bleached out in the wind. Still in the january of 2004 the signs show war.
The spectral colours of the flagg have been transformed to their equivalent from a grayscale. In white letters instead of the Italian word "Pace" for peace the opposite can be read, well, it's not guerra but "WAR".
